Our fabulous delegation to WorldMUN 2012: Vancouver has done it again! With eleven of the fourteen members earning the coveted diplomacy awards, W&M placed among the top few schools in the world! While the unofficial rankings have yet to be tallied, past years with this ratio have resulted in a second place for the large delegation category.
WorldMUN is truly a group effort. Our delegates trained hard, helping each other to prepare and supporting one another from position assignments all the way through to the glorious end. Many thanks are also due to the numerous members of the Club and W&M community who lent their expertise and talent to numerous training sessions. MUN is a team sport of the highest caliber, and W&M lacks nothing in team spirit.
Congratulations also to all of the universities who participated! These delegations are always a pleasure to work with. It is these friendships and good feelings that WorldMUN strives and succeeds to create.
Until next year, WorldMUN. It has been an amazing experience for all who attended and everyone at home in Williamsburg should be thanked for their assistance. Congratulations delegates!
The IRC WMDs won the first IM Outdoot Soccer Game with a score of 4-1! Check out this cute picture of the victorious team:
IM Basketball is undefeated! The Team beat the Wesley Foundation in the first match of the year. Here’s the lineup for the rest of the regular season:
Monday, February 6th at 5pm
Monday, february 13th at 6pm
Monday, February 20th at 6pm
Hope to see you on the court!
P.S. Basketball is the only sport John does not play, so he may make an appearance with pom-poms instead!
Congratulations to the McMUN team! Fifty-four delegates from W&M attended Canada’s premier conference and eleven were award winners. As a whole, the delegation walked away with the most Book Awards – McGill’s recognition for the most diplomatic delegates. This reflects well on our spirit of MUN: we aim to lead debate, develop policy, respect others, make friends, and have a good time. And that is certainly what we did in Montreal!
We also won the award for most attractive delegation!
Whether you know it as soccer or football, there is no denying that it is the world’s sport. The IRC’s WMDs won this year’s IM indoor soccer in a 2-1 squeaker. Czech out those championship jerseys!
